Memory Lane

So absolutely ages I mentioned I had been making a memory book with nan. And I have been meaning to show you these videos of nan’s reaction. We have been decorating the pages together so I foolishly thought she would remember it, but having had it upstairs to write up some stories I took it to her and her eyes lit up. It was the first time she thought she had seen it.

And her reaction was astounding. She really was in tune with the book and the memories it helped her to access. And she was bright and laughed a lot. Unfortunately the camera cut out a few times so you miss the great description, hand gestures included, of the Camp Coffee containers.

It was so lovely for me to see that the hard work we had put in was helping nan, and every time nan see’s it, it’s like the first time. And I get to share that with her.

So here are the links to the videos if you’d like to see:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zW7HKmUzzM – grandchildren, pointing out my fat cheeks. She also told me I hadn’t changed much. Not sure if I should be offended by that!

Please stop thinking about making one of these for your loved ones, and DO IT. Do it for the just in case, do it for your children, for the heritage, do it for the fun afternoons spent looking at photographs and other memories.
